Run Wild MCR
The Manchester 24 Hour Run Against Homelessness is a mass participation relay event held over 24 hours in November.

"The event was set up in 2019 by members of Run Wild MCR, the social running club at the University of Manchester. There would be no Run Wild MCR without MCR. It’s not just the city we run through on a Tuesday night, it’s the vibrant, inclusive community of runners - and beyond - that we are proud to be a part of. We believe that our city, like our sport, is for everyone.
But, with homelessness rates in Greater Manchester among the highest in the country, thousands of people remain literally locked out. The Manchester 24 Hour Run Against Homelessness was born out of our desire to bring people together from across the city and support the work of local organisations helping people off the streets and back into the community by raising funds for the Greater Manchester Mayor’s Charity." - James Bannister, Run Wild MCR
In 2021 Run Wild MCR stacked up a total of 2355km, raising £5,079
Since their first run in 2019, they've raised more than £11,500, an amazing effort.
The event takes place annually and anyone can join in, running or walking as far as you like in 5km laps of the city centre. You can also take part virtually wherever you are in the world and add your distance to the total online. You can find out more about how to get involved on - www.mcr24hourrun.co.uk.
Look out for the next one in 2022!
