A Home For Us All this October
29 September 2021
This October – to mark World Homelessness Day on Sunday 10th October - we'll be talking about hidden homelessness - the people you don’t see on the streets but still need our help.
Our A Home For Us All campaign running throughout the month aims to highlight this hidden homelessness and raise vital funds to support the frontline as well as stop people ending up on the streets.
Rough sleeping is just the tip of the iceberg and most people who sleep rough also experience other forms of homelessness, with constant insecurity and movement between places to find somewhere safe.
Did you know?
Did you know that there are 4,337 children in temporary accommodation across Greater Manchester?
And that 24% of households in Greater Manchester known to be at imminent risk of homelessness were single females with dependent children? (both as of March 2021).
This affects future life chances as at least 50% of single people who end up sleeping rough experience homelessness by the age of 20.
Greater Manchester should be a home for us all and we believe that through prevention and intervention change is possible.
