Lime hits 120,000 e-scooter rides in Salford, with new charity and community partnerships launched to mark one year anniversary of the scheme
Lime, the world’s largest and most experienced micro mobility operator, is celebrating safely delivering 120,000 e-scooter rides across Salford in the first year of its scheme, with just under 150,000 miles travelled by 35,000 riders to date.
Lime is marking the milestone by making renewed investments in the local community in Salford. The provider has partnered with The Greater Manchester Mayor’s Charity to encourage its riders to round up their ride to the nearest pound to help tackle homelessness in Greater Manchester. Lime will be matching all rider donations - delivered via its Lime Hero programme - and will also be working with the charity to provide gift in kind logistical and event support, as well as free Lime rides for charity volunteers.
Sam Merullo, General Manager UKI at Lime said: "One year in and 120,000 Lime rides later, we’re more excited to be delivering our service in Salford than ever. We’re proud to be celebrating the first anniversary of our scheme here by investing further in the local community, including launching a fantastic new partnership with The Greater Manchester Mayor’s Charity to help tackle homelessness in Greater Manchester. I encourage all of our users to start rounding up their rides today!"
Vanessa Haworth from Greater Manchester Mayor’s Charity adds; “We’re thrilled by the support of both Lime and its riders for stepping up to help ensure homelessness has no place in Greater Manchester. Support from both individuals and businesses is vital to help make change happen”.
