Back to What We've Funded

Stockport Women's Centre

The Centre received funding from us to help support them during the Covid crisis.

The funding ensured the centre could remain open when many organisations' front doors were closed. It enabled them to:

  • Respond to the increase in support calls (158%)
  • Provide welcome packs to all women registering with us for the first time
  • Provide care packs for current women registered with the service including food, craft and beauty as well as toys for children, and special requests

"Before coming to the centre, I knew I needed some help, but I wasn't sure what I needed. From the welcome pack, the onboarding process and then being matched with a support worker, the whole experience so far has been seamless and stress-free and every step of the way I have encountered people who genuinely care and have empathy, even in these difficult times." - Service user.

"...it makes you feel valued and that you are in safe hands, which is so important when you are feeling in a vulnerable place"
