Greater Manchester, you are amazing! We saw you lace up your walking boots, don your running shoes, and even head out for a stroll. You circled home in style!

2023 saw the launch of a brand-new community asset for the people of Greater Manchester: The GM Ringway – Greater Manchester’s Walking Trail. This 300km trail takes in an incredible mix of our city-region’s natural and historical sites, circling all ten boroughs in 20 distinct stages.

Each of the 20 stages are easily accessible by public transport, and give visitors and residents alike a wonderful opportunity to explore Greater Manchester.

Celebrating the launch of the GM Ringway, we invited Greater Manchester to Circle Home, launching the region’s biggest ever sponsored walk all to raise funds to support our flagship initiative, A Bed Every Night.

We teamed up with Salford Red Devils, the GM Ringway crew, the Business Growth Hub and GM Moving to get people out on the trail raising funds to support people experiencing homelessness and rough sleeping.

The weekend saw people out in groups, with their colleagues, friends, or local community exploring new parts of Greater Manchester, raising awareness and raising funds.
