Do you think you’re strong enough to take on Greater Manchester Mayor’s Charity’s toughest challenge yet?

Have you got what it takes to be crowned Greater Manchester’s Strongest Team? Pull our 11,220kg bus over the finish line and let’s find out.

It’s been more than 50 years since heavy goods have been pulled through Greater Manchester’s Manchester Central. What once was powered by steam and industry will now be powered by teams from the businesses and communities of our great city-region in the Greater Manchester Mayor’s Charity Bus Pull.

Greater Manchester Mayor’s Charity are welcoming TfGM, the Bee Network, Go North West and Diamond North West into Manchester Central – originally one of the city’s main railway terminals – for a fundraiser with a difference.

On 17th August, teams of 5 will pull one of our two 11,220kg buses 30 meters to the finish line inside the iconic Central Hall at Manchester Central. Victors will be crowned Greater Manchester’s Strongest Team but all will be celebrated as champions for Greater Manchester Mayor’s Charity.

Throughout the day, teams from across the businesses and communities of Greater Manchester will compete during their allocated timeslot (between 10 and 6). You will be able to track progress on a live leader board, with the fastest team announced across our socials at the end of the day.

To enter, each team will be asked to fundraise a minimum of £500 – that’s just £100 per teammate. However, the sky is the limit!

The funds you raise will fund pioneering work across Greater Manchester to help stop homelessness before it becomes a reality. It will also provide support and accommodation to people who face a night on the streets through the unrivalled flagship ‘A Bed Every Night’ programme.

The organisations we fund rely on the support of people like you. Together, we have raised more than £3.1 million since our launch in 2019. This is thanks to the incredible generosity of the Greater Manchester community.

Those funds have translated into more than 70,000 nights of emergency accommodation, provided 40 grants to organisations so they can keep running through tough times and enabled 12 years of frontline work through funding. However, more must be done.

Sign up today to find out more. We will be in contact with details of next steps, how to fundraise, and how to register your team. Places are limited, so don’t delay!

Thank you to Manchester Central, TfGM, Bee Network, Go North West and Diamond North West for their support. Without them, this event would not be possible.

If you are a company who not only wants to submit a team, but begin your partnership with Greater Manchester Mayor's Charity today, there are opportunities to sponsor the event itself. Get in touch today to find out more. Together, we can end homelessness.

Donate today and know that your money will help tackle homelessness across our city-region for a fairer and more sustainable future.
