Join Jonathan for the Manchester Half Marathon

This October, we're looking for people to secure their own place in the Manchester Half Marathon and raise funds for us.

Jonathan Reed from award winning creative agency Sunny Thinking is taking on the running challenge for us, commenting:

“We’ve been supporting Greater Manchester Mayor’s Charity as a business for over a year now and I thought it was time for me to personally go that extra mile, literally in this case. I wanted to set myself a challenge to help raise money for the charity so have signed up for the Manchester ½ Marathon. I’d encourage others to sign up too. On a personal level I needed a target for after the summer to help me keep fit and I thought what better way than do it helping raise much needed funds to help tackle homelessness in the area.”

The Manchester Half is a 13.1 mile challenge that takes place every October, starting and finishing by Old Trafford, and is easily the biggest in the region with over 15,000 runners.

With closed roads and a flat route with no major hills the race offers runners amazing personal best potential. There is a new route for 2022 covering more areas of Manchester, and going into the city centre for the first time.

The race takes place on Sunday 9 October 2022, the day before World Homeless Day, offering a great chance to raise awareness and funds by joining our team.

World Homeless Day emerged from online discussions between people working to respond to homelessness from various parts of the world and began on the 10th of October 2010.

Since then, it has been observed on every continent except Antarctica, in several dozen countries to draw attention to people who experience homelessness needs locally and provide opportunities for the community to get involved in responding to homelessness.

We're looking for people to secure their own place in the Manchester Half Marathon and raise funds for us. We'll provide you with a t-shirt, support along the way and connect you to our other runners. The money raised will support local homelessness initiatives across Greater Manchester.
