Do you ever go to the gym, look at the weights and wonder what on earth you do with them?

According to Forbes, ‘Muscle building is a vital part of any fitness routine and can help enhance muscle tone, improve balance, reduce the risk of injury and improve overall health.’ Regular strength training has some less obvious advantages as well, including a host of mental health benefits like reduced symptoms of anxiety and depression.

Imagine if you spent 30 days in September working on building this into a habit to improve your health and fundraise for the pioneering scheme, A Bed Every Night.

Use our 30-day tracker to find out the number of reps you need to complete each day- you decide the weight of your dumbbell. Are you going to work out your glutes, shoulders, arms or abs? That is for you to decide!

You could even get competitive. Challenge a friend or family member, even a work colleague. You can challenge them on social media with the tag line, ‘I challenge you’, think bucket challenge but with weightlifting. Get your phone out and make some great reels, do it together, you can even get your gym involved.
