We've grown!

Greater Manchester Mayor's Charity has expanded, welcoming Frankie King and Laura Field to the team.

GMMC has grown and has now welcomed the largest staff team it has ever had. I hope you all join me in welcoming our two new starters, Laura and Frankie. To continue to be effective, pioneering and collaborative, we must grow. We must grow our funding pool and we must grow our capacity to support new and innovative schemes that tackle homelessness across our city-region.

GMMC has come a long way from its inception in 2018, however, more is needed. Whilst our flagship scheme, A Bed Every Night, is paving the way for how to tackle rough sleeping across a city-region, 2023 has nevertheless been a very difficult year for people at risk of or currently experiencing homelessness. The emergency response offer in Greater Manchester is unrivalled, but it must be well supported by work to stop homelessness before it becomes a reality.

The crippling impact of the cost-of-living emergency is continuing to be felt across Greater Manchester and so it is now, more than ever, that we must grow our capacity to support more of the incredible pioneering and innovative work across our ten boroughs.

Fran Darlington-Pollock, Head of Strategic Development, said:

“2023 is going to mean a lot for the charity. It started with some strong foundations and great ideas, and it is a privilege to lead a new and expanding team who are bringing such energy and enthusiasm to the work that we do. The new role for Tom, and the addition of Laura and Frankie create the platform we need to grow our fundraising and therefore our support.”

Frankie will take on a newly created role building our capacity to reach more people, communities and businesses in Greater Manchester. Expect exciting things from our social media channels, our mail outs, and our website as Frankie settles into her new post.

Laura joins as our new office administrator, providing much needed support to our fundraising, events, campaigns, and grant making activities. Laura’s role straddles all that we do, so many of you will come into contact with her in the coming months.

Donate today and know that your money will help tackle homelessness across our city-region for a fairer and more sustainable future.
